New York, New York

December 17, 2009

Well, I’ve been busy with final papers and snow, so I decided to post a nice song, meanwhile!

Dutch Birthday

December 1, 2009

October started with party in Williamsburg!

Our Dutch friend, Anke, threw a birthday party at her place, in Brooklyn. Laura and Lauren missed the party, but Judith was there, Braedan as well, together with many other people from the New School, most of them international students: Phillip from Germany, Miquel, from Spain, Alexandra, from Ukraine, Florencia, from Costa Rica, etc… We had a lot of fun!

oxox, hahahaha!

MoMA

November 30, 2009

What a boring place! Don’t waste your time there…

Haha, I’m kidding… Actually, no, that’s true! I though the Museum of Modern Art would be a more interesting place…

The MoMA is not as good as the Met, but if it’s a Friday, the MoMA is free, the take a look, haha!

And if you speak Portuguese like me, you will never understand how some place can be a museum and called modern at the same time…

Oh, they had Salvador Dali:

Ugly Betty

November 30, 2009

And one of this September days I was walking around Cooper Union when I saw the sign:

Ugly Betty's sign

I got crazy!
I came back to that place other 3 or 4 times during that same day, I luckily I was able to see the Ugly Betty crew shooting a scene (the aired on November 27th, the seventh episode of the fourth season)!

Betty (America Ferrera), Amanda (Becki Newton) and Clair (Judith Light)

Sooner, that same day, I got a chance to talk to Daniel Eric Gold (Matt, Betty’s and Amanda’s love interest)! He is such a nice person!

Remember, Remember, New York in September

November 30, 2009

I walked a lot!

I remember I visited many different places in the end of September, in New York, mainly midtown and downtown.

Lower East Side with Eugenie, Arthur, David, Alexei and Tomoya!

But September was the month in which I walked around by myself, to get to know different neighborhoods, as Soho, Tribeca and the Battery Park City.

Hudson River, Williamsburg and the Village

November 30, 2009

Back in September, I’ve been to some nice bars in different points of New York.

One of these bar is located in a boat, in one of the Chelsea piers, with a very cool view of the Hudson River and New Jersey. I went there with my French friends, Eugenie, Arthur, David, and my Dutch friends Laura, Lauren and Judith.

Some days after that, we went to Brooklyn, and when it comes to night life, Williamsburg is a place that deserves attention. One of the nicest locations for people to get together in Brooklyn! And who was there? Eugenie, Arthur, Benjamin, Hanae, Tomoya, Ben and his friends.

Also in September, I got together with my Dutch friends again – Laura, Judith and Anke, and with the New Zealander Braedan. We visited a very charming and comfortable Belgium bar at the Village, close to Washington Square Park.

But this is how it works, I’m in New York, and my mind can’t keep up with so many things!

A song about New York… I don’t know why, but I can hear it everywhere!

October 15, 2009

Guys, it’s October!!

Sorry, I have been busy!

People, that’s New York, you have to understand I don’t have time to be here, posting, the world is waiting for me outside! Hahahaha! Seriously, this is the best place in the world, I’m living the time of my life, and time goes by do fast!

What I did during September??

I’ve been studying Horror, Sci-fi and Difference, and Celebrity Culture with my friends Eugenie (from France) and Lauren (from the Netherlands), and Queer Cinema with Fey (from China).

I’ve met many international people! We had a very busy orientation week, after that we had an international lunch, where I met Alexei (from Ukraine), Lura (Kosovo), Johanna (Sweden), Nadine (Germany), Jose (Chile), besides Eugenie and her lovely French friends, Arthur and David!

The life at Uhall is pretty nice and comfortable as well! Neighbors Olivia and Julia are very nice, and we have a great RA: Binata! Did I tell you that my neighbors love me?

My roommates, Alex, Tomoya and Ben are great, I love them, although sometimes we have to solve some cultural differences! We went to the top of the Rockfeller Center in September. We also went to the Brazilian Day in New York, together with Jenny, Blair and Laura, our friend from the Netherlands (also friend of Lauren’s)!
